AI engineering is still a relatively new field, standards and best practices are still taking shape.. there’s a lot of noise out there and I was looking for material that would cut through it, with established software engineering principles applied to LLM-based applications. The GenAI Accelerator delivered exactly that, along with practical templates and examples I can use directly in my client projects. It helped me focus more on solving my clients’ problems and less on figuring out which hot new framework or fancy architecture to use. So I totally recommend it for those looking for a practical and well structured approach to building AI applications well grounded in solid software engineering!

Datalumina is an excellent structured course and format and provides superb value for the money. While I was first scared to send a substantianl amount of money to a "stranger on the interet" I am now more than happy for my decision because it really provided the missing pieces to get my business going.

Im a few months into my engineering journey and this course was a massive help. The contents and project parts were difficult but manageable as long as you take breaks, use AI to fill in gaps, and study the material. I really liked how the course included other materials like articles, Youtube videos, and podcasts to get you to fully dive deep into the subject. For anyone on the fence I would say that the course is not mandatory but extremely helpful. You build one concrete project and where you get to understand how each component fits into the bigger picture. It takes commitment but is definitely do able if you commit a few hours during the week and more dedicated time on the weekends!

Before joining the GenAI Accelerator, I had the business intuition but lacked the technical foundation to act on it. I knew how AI was transforming industries, but I couldn't build the solutions I could clearly see were needed. The program gave me exactly what I was missing: a structured path from zero to production-ready systems. In 6 weeks (a bit less ahah ), I went from watching tutorials to deploying real RAG pipelines, building end-to-end projects, and understanding how to architect AI solutions that actually solve business problems — not just pass a demo. The biggest shift wasn't technical. It was confidence. I now know how to bridge the gap between what a client needs and what's technically possible, which I'm very grateful for.

Before joining the program, I got interested in AI on my own and started experimenting. I decided to build an AI property manager, even though I had no prior software experience. With ChatGPT I made progress, but eventually I hit a loop where I couldn’t deploy, evaluate, or get clear results. Then I found Dave and this program, which laid everything out so clearly that I can’t imagine not knowing what I know now. The course was a lot, but nothing good comes easy. Honestly, it’s the best investment I’ve made in learning AI - second only to joining Data Freelancer, which also offers great content. My goal is freedom, like my role model Luffy, and I believe gaining valuable skills is the way to achieve it. Thank you, Dave, and thanks to the whole team. I appreciate it a lot.

My main challenge was figuring out how to transition from being an employee to becoming an independent consultant. I had spent my whole career working as an employee, so it was hard for me to think about how to structure and organize myself to make such a big transition with as much confidence and stability as possible. Data Freelancer gave me a step-by-step plan for everything I needed to do to make that jump. I followed the plan, executed it step by step without overthinking too much, and was able to start working from day one by leveraging my existing network and contacts. That helped me land my first paid projects, handle negotiations, and create my own way of presenting myself professionally, especially through my website. The feedback I received during the live sessions was also extremely valuable, and being able to rely on the community made the whole process feel much more supported and less isolated. More than anything, Data Freelancer helped me get clear on the key things I needed to think through when starting this new business, so I wouldn’t leave any loose ends behind.

My #1 challenge before joining GenAI Accelerator was weakness in software engineering skills and putting everything together to create a fully-featured end-to-end GenAI app. GenAI Accelerator has helped me overcome this challenge by giving me clear, detailed, step by step instructions on how to build GenAI apps from scratch, leveraging providers and services along the way. If you are on the fence about joining, I would definitely recommend this because it really does result in learning / having access to hands-on skills regarding how to develop an app that you can actually be proud of developing.

I am full stack engineer and wanted to learn about the AI hype. The biggest challenge I faced was where to start? There is so much of content (noise) out there and it's very easy to get distracted and forget what you are acutally looking for. There were so many weeks/months gone by just to figure out where to start and one day finally I found Datalumina. GenAI Accelerator has taught so much from scratch and would like to say that it gives you a path. It would be great addition to join Datalumina community.

My biggest challenge was how to connect all the different tutorials I have watched over the past year or year and a half into an actual project. The GenAI Accelerator helped me by providing a structured approach to applying these learnings, from both a technical point of view and from the perspective of how they could be applied across different projects. Definitely worth it if you are on the fence or have doubts in your AI skills.

I am a Senior Full Stack Engineer and was really wondering where to start learning about AI. I Had to do lot of research but was going nowhere that's when I found Datalumina and it really helped me to understand where I want to be in AI world as an engineer. The GenAI Accelerator shifted my approach from focusing on individual models to building complete, production-ready AI systems. I now prioritize rapid prototyping, structured prompt engineering, and robust evaluation with guardrails. It also pushed me to favor RAG over fine-tuning and to consider cost, latency, and user experience as core parts of AI engineering. I am really glad I found out about this course.

My biggest challenge was understanding how to build AI workflows and the deployment process. The program has helped tremendously. Understanding how to design patterns (chain of responsibility) and going through the workflows. Seeing Dave go through the deployment process step-by-step allowed to understand the process. Join if you are serious about learning how to engineer AI solutions with a reliable production capable framework.

Before joining the program, I genuinely had no idea where to start with building AI applications. I was overwhelmed by the amount of content online. Everyone seemed to be teaching how to build a basic to-do app with AI sprinkled in, but nothing felt grounded in what it actually takes to build production-grade systems. It felt scattered, surface-level, and honestly intimidating. What resonated with me about Dave’s program was the honesty. From day one, it was clear this wasn’t a “get rich quick” or “vibe-code an AI startup in a weekend” type of course. It laid out the reality: building real AI systems requires understanding multiple moving parts — architecture, evaluation, prompting, data flows, guardrails, versioning, infrastructure, and more. That framing alone shifted my mindset. The biggest breakthrough for me was finally understanding the full picture — from step A to Z — of how to design, build, and ship production-grade AI systems. Instead of random tactics, I now think in systems. I understand the components, how they interact, and how to structure projects properly. That clarity turned uncertainty into confidence. The community was another huge differentiator. Being surrounded by other builders working through similar challenges accelerated my learning and gave me perspective. It didn’t feel like I was figuring it out alone. This has easily been the best investment I’ve made in my career. I went from feeling shaky and unsure where to even begin, to confidently building and shipping custom AI solutions for businesses. If you’re serious about developing real AI capability — not just playing with demos — this program gives you the foundation to actually do it. Thank you for everything, Dave.

Before joining the GenAI Accelerator, I understood the potential of AI and was already experimenting with different tools, but I struggled to turn ideas into reliable, production-ready systems. I could build individual AI features, but designing the complete architecture, choosing the right models, controlling costs, validating AI outputs, and making the overall solution scalable and dependable were much bigger challenges. The GenAI Accelerator changed the way I approach AI engineering. Instead of thinking about AI as simply calling an LLM API, I now think about the complete system around it — workflows, agents, structured outputs, validation, guardrails, observability, cost management, automation, and human approval where it makes sense. My biggest challenge was knowing how to move from an AI prototype to a production-quality AI system. It was relatively easy to create something that worked in a demo, but much harder to answer questions such as: How do I make the AI output reliable? How should I structure multi-step AI workflows? When should I use agents versus traditional code? How do I prevent hallucinations? How do I validate AI decisions? How do I manage token and infrastructure costs? And how do I design the system so it can operate automatically without creating unnecessary risk? The program gave me a practical framework for solving these problems rather than treating AI development as trial and error. I learned how to combine traditional software engineering with GenAI, build structured and controlled AI workflows, use different models appropriately, introduce validation and guardrails, and design systems where AI operates within clearly defined boundaries. Most importantly, it gave me the confidence to take AI ideas all the way from concept to implementation. I am now building AI into real business processes, including product enrichment, marketplace automation, content generation, image workflows, validation systems, and other automated decision-making processes.

With the ever-changing landscape of AI, Dave has set up a great platform which sets the groundwork to avoid common pitfalls and navigate tweaking your prompts and systems along the way to fine-tune the application. I loved the application that was build throughout the course and the hands-on, messy aspect of development. Datalumina has put together a great program and takes you from nothing to a fully deployed system. Great job!

I'm a software engineer with 25 years of experience, and I've been freelancing for over 15. I took the Data Freelancer course to find new ways to land clients, smooth out the dead periods between contracts, and figure out how to raise my hourly rate. I was hoping for tips and tricks to complement what I was already doing. What I found most valuable was learning how other people actually do freelancing — the pros and cons of each strategy, how to run discovery calls, and how to frame things so you're offering services clients genuinely need. The course also does a great job of walking you through estimating and pricing, so you can give clients a realistic idea of what a project will cost and how long it will take. There's a lot of practical information here, and the community was a real highlight. The honest feedback helped us understand what things are really like, not how we imagined them. A lot of us came in thinking there was an easy, fast way to find clients with minimal effort — the reality is that every strategy takes real time and effort, and that's time you're not billing. That said, I want to be honest about my own results. I landed a client, but through the same Upwork approach I was already using. I tried the recruiter strategy and connected with four recruiters, but never got any interviews. So I don't feel that I've seen a direct ROI yet — I still ended up doing what I was doing before. What I did gain was much more clarity on what I want and what's available in the market, and the strategies that aren't right for me and why they aren't, and I'm in a better position to work with a recruiter in the future now that I've built those connections on LinkedIn. One thing I'd like to see improved: the course doesn't hand you jobs or a list of people to work with — you have to do all the legwork yourself. You learn the strategies, then go execute them on your own, and that's still a lot of effort and time. More perspectives from people actively working on Upwork would have given us better feedback where we were lacking and more strategies specifically on Upwork with feedback of what works and what doesn't there. Overall, I think it's a good course. There's a lot of information packed in, and it would take you a long time to gather all those details on your own. It's also up to date — Dave is always working with freelancers, so he has a current read on how the freelance market is most of the time. This is the right course for someone starting out in freelancing who wants to understand the different strategies and how to actually execute them. Just go in with realistic expectations: it gives you the playbook, but the work is still yours to do.

Before this course, I only had a fragmented understanding of how to develop an end-to-end Generative AI application. The course is well structured and covers the entire development pipeline, which helped me connect all the different components into a complete picture. It has significantly improved my understanding of the end-to-end workflow, and I do not regret joining this course. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to gain a practical understanding of building Generative AI applications.

I came in with eight years of software engineering. I could build. What I couldn't do was build AI systems I trusted in production. The hard part was never the code. It was knowing how to architect an AI system that holds up once real users touch it. The field is full of noise. Endless frameworks, endless hype, and it's not obvious what actually survives contact with production. Years of engineering don't fix that on their own, because building reliably with LLMs is a different skill. The Accelerator taught me to build from first principles. Workflows over agents. Own your patterns instead of renting them from a framework that breaks next update.

Before joining GenAI Accelerator, I was already building AI tools at work, but I felt stuck between creating prototypes and truly understanding how to build production-ready AI systems. The program helped me connect the dots between AI workflows, architecture, APIs, databases, Docker, and deployment, giving me a much more complete view of AI engineering. Since joining, I’ve become a trusted AI resource across multiple teams at my company and have taken on increasingly complex projects with far more confidence. If you’re serious about moving beyond prompting and learning how to build real AI applications, I believe the program is well worth the investment.

So I didn't even finish the program.. opportunities started coming in faster than I could keep up and I just ran with them! Take that as you will :) What I got from the Data Freelancer program was a mindset shift, the tools, and the network! Finding your niche, building inbound systems that fit you (either LinkedIn, YouTube, whatever works for you), learning how to position yourself and go after the right jobs! Nobody hands you anything though.. you show up, you do the work. Like anything worth doing! Now, the difference is that you're surrounded by ambitious people in AI and data who are actually building stuff, and that energy rubs off on you! Opportunities flow through the network too, which helps when you've put in the effort ;) The biggest thing for me is that it opened up how I see opportunities altogether. Not just freelancing, but starting products, engaging with people I normally wouldn't approach, seeing possibilities I didn't know were there. My whole field of vision got wider. 10/10 would do it again! :)

I started out completely lost as to what all I needed to do to get customers reliably as a freelancer. Data Freelancer gave me an all-encompassing roadmap which was exactly what I needed to get started. They can take you from not knowing where to start, to having a systematic process that just needs to be followed. Anything unique to your situation can be asked in a Q&A call or by posting in the group. The community is filled with experienced engineers, agency owners, freelancers, startup founders, etc. The community itself is super helpful and knowledgeable. It's a great networking opportunity. Data Freelancer helped me land my first contract, helped me not get taken advantage of, and gave me the confidence to pursue my freelancing journey. If you have experience in data or AI engineering, want to start freelancing, and don't know where to start, I highly recommend joining Data Freelancer.

It has been a great learning experience to take the GenAI Accelerator course. Before I started, I had a simple AI system with limited customization, and I was looking for a way to build an AI application from first principles using Python. I was jumping between random sources of information on the internet and had taken a theoretical machine‑learning course. I got a foundation of what AI can do and how it works but I missed a plan and some tools for building a production ready AI system. GenAI Accelerator was exactly the program I needed to get the right tools and connect the pieces of the puzzle. Part 1 gave the overall picture of what is important when building an AI system - it has among other things giving me a good understanding of prompt engineering and practical experience with how to reach an endpoint in an IT-system. Part 2 explained the important building blocks and gave a good introduction of how to work with LLM in Python - especially the concept chain of responsibility has been very important for my understanding of how AI systems work. Part 3 gave the necessary understanding of the software infrastructure needed to build IT-systems - containerization and Docker were totally new concepts for me. Part 4 gave me what I need to understand RAG - I have already used what I learned to build a RAG pipeline to my current AI solution. Part 5 gave me a deep understanding of the necessity of monitoring you AI system and how this can be used to improve your system over time - the ability to look at the data that run through a system will be invaluable in the future. Part 6 taught me how to deploy an AI system - I have already applied this knowledge to deploy a GDPR‑friendly version of my current AI solution that ensures data stays within the EU. I can recommend this course to anyone with a technical background who wants a structured learning experience on how to build an AI system from first principles. I look forward to using the knowledge and experience I have gained to build state‑of‑the‑art AI solutions in the future.

Before joining the GenAI Accelerator, I was new to AI engineering and a bit overwhelmed with all the options available in terms of frameworks and approaches. Within all of the different frameworks and no-code tools available, I was not sure what the best approach was to build real, scalable systems in production instead of basic tutorials. The GenAI Accelerator gave me a lot of clarity in how to actually build solid systems from first principles, backed by many years of experience from real world projects. For people who are not sure yet, I would highly recommend it.

Data Freelancer gave me the confidence to bet on myself. Week 2 alone, setting one clear goal, guided every decision I made for the next year. I crossed $100K in revenue 3 months ahead of my original target. I only finished 3 of 6 weeks. That's not a criticism. It's proof: the program gives you what you need to actually start moving. For me, that was permission to believe it was possible, and a framework to run with. The rest was execution.

Before joining the Data Freelancer program, my biggest challenge was presenting myself commercially to potential clients - and having the confidence and determination to consistently put myself out there. The program gave me an invaluable combination of practical processes, proven strategies, and accountability. Its clear, structured approach helped me understand exactly how to position myself and take action, while the weekly meetups kept me focused and moving forward. The confidence followed along the way. After just three months - and by the end of my first 30-Day Attack - I landed a full-time freelance role as a backend AI engineer with a local AI agency. The clarity and momentum the program gave me made a tremendous difference, and I’m very grateful for the results so far.

Before Data Freelancer, I had already been freelancing for a couple of years, but the business side of it - client outreach, contract negotiation, positioning myself - felt difficult and at times almost esoteric. It just wasn't a natural fit for my personality, and I had no real framework for any of it. Data Freelancer breaks down the business side into a clear, logical, almost algorithmic system - something that really resonates with people from a tech background. It's genuinely a lot of work - more than I expected - and I haven't mastered every lesson yet, but I can feel myself moving in the right direction. Sales still isn't my comfort zone, but I now understand the process well enough to know I can generate new leads whenever I need to. The result: real confidence, my highest-responsibility and most interesting project to date, and more clarity on my professional direction than I've had in years. Huge thanks to Dave and the team for creating a great programme for data professionals who are ready to venture out on their own!

My biggest challenge before joining GenAI Accelerator was figuring out what to learn. There’s an overwhelming amount of AI/ML content online, but much of it lacks structure or real-world context. GenAI Accelerator solved that by providing a clear, structured learning path focused on the tools, skills, and workflows used in production AI applications. Each topic builds on the previous one, making it much easier to develop practical, job-relevant skills. If you're on the fence about joining, I highly recommend it. It's a great way to cut through the noise, accelerate your learning, and gain experience that translates directly to real-world AI engineering work.

I’m a software engineering student with almost no real IT background, and for a long time I felt totally lost with GenAI. I kept jumping between random tutorials and YouTube videos, but nothing showed me what actually works in the real world. What made this course different is how much Dave shares from his own experience actually building AI systems for real companies, not just toy demos. Hearing the “this is what really happens in production” stories, the mistakes, the tradeoffs, and the patterns he uses in real client work felt more valuable than any standalone project tutorial I’ve done. For the first time, I felt like someone was showing me the real map, not just throwing code at me — and that gave me a lot of confidence that I can grow into a real AI engineer too

Mohamed
software engineering student

I have been a software engineer for 5 years. For most of 2025 I was afraid that AI was going to render me irrelevant. Then, after watching some of Dave Ebbelaar's YouTube videos, I had an epiphany: Anybody can build a demo for an 'AI system' in a closed context. But implementing an AI system into a real world business is a whole different proposition that requires fundamental software engineering knowledge. In fact, knowing how to build systems that handle real world edge-cases becomes even more important in the stochastic world of generative AI. So I set out to future-proof myself by learning how to build clean, maintainable AI systems and deploy them into the real world with proper observability, guardrails and testing. This course provides all of that and more. Everything that you learn is grounded in fundamental, real world principles and devoid of hype. So I have shifted from thinking that my software engineering skills are redundant to realising that such skills actually form the foundation of every real world AI implementation! And I now have a strong understanding of how to build reliable AI systems that can sit on top of my existing skill base. I'm not scared any more. I'm now excited!

Before joining the GenAI Accelerator at Datalumina, my approach to AI engineering was fragmented and largely experimental. I had ideas and some technical grounding, but I lacked a structured framework to translate use cases into scalable, production-ready solutions. The biggest bottleneck was not technology—it was clarity on architecture, prioritization, and how to turn AI into real business value. The program changed that completely. It provided a clear, end-to-end methodology for designing, building, and deploying AI solutions, with a strong focus on practical implementation. I gained hands-on experience with real-world architectures, learned how to structure RAG systems properly, and, more importantly, how to align AI initiatives with measurable ROI. The biggest breakthrough was moving from “playing with AI” to engineering solutions that actually solve business problems and can be deployed with confidence. It gave me the tools, mindset, and speed to execute at a much higher level. If you’re considering the GenAI Accelerator, ask yourself this: are you still experimenting, or are you ready to build real AI products that deliver value? If it’s the latter, this program will get you there faster and with far more precision than figuring it out on your own.

Before joining the GenAI Accelerator, I was starting from zero and honestly didn’t know what to learn first or what actually matters in real-world AI engineering. The biggest thing holding me back was the noise: there’s a lot of low-quality, confusing content on YouTube and even platforms like Udemy, and most “AI career roadmaps” (even the ones generated by AI) are generic and stretch everything into a silly 3–4+ month plan without a clear path to becoming production-ready. GenAI Accelerator helped me overcome this by giving me a structured, production-focused path and a framework that’s designed to be used in real projects. Time is money. Yes, the price can look high at first, but what you get in return is a production-ready framework and the compression of the learning curve — saving you at least 3–4 months of trial-and-error. Instead of spending that time just “learning,” you can use it to build a portfolio with real, end-to-end projects, which is what actually increases your chances of landing a six-figure job. If you’re on the fence: if you don’t know AI, this is one of the easiest and fastest paths to accelerate and become production-ready in about 4 weeks. And if you already know the basics, you’ll still get an amazing framework plus insights from people who’ve been working in this field for 10+ years — back when AI wasn’t even hype.

I didn’t have a clear, end-to-end understanding of the moving parts in a production GenAI system - how everything fits together, and which tools/products are best for real-world use. This program gave me a practical framework and hands-on experience with production-ready patterns and tooling, so I can confidently design and deliver reliable, mission-critical AI-enabled applications. If you want a comprehensive, practical program (not just theory), GenAI Accelerator is worth it! Especially because the mentorship and community help you move faster and avoid costly missteps.
