Datalumina Academy is the educational arm of Datalumina, an AI development company in the Netherlands. Every program on this site comes from systems we have shipped for real clients.
Our story
From client work to classroom
Datalumina grew out of Dave's solo freelancing business into a software development company helping small and medium-sized businesses implement data and AI solutions. That work is still the core of what we do. Our team designs, builds, and ships production AI systems for B2B clients across SaaS, finance, logistics, and developer tools, including consulting work for teams like TimescaleDB, ClickUp, and n8n.
The academy grew out of that consulting work. After years of answering the same questions from developers on YouTube and inside client projects, we started packaging the playbooks, codebases, and delivery patterns we use every week into structured programs.
That is the model behind everything we publish: we build AI systems for clients, then teach what works. If something is in a program, it has been pressure-tested in a real engagement first.
Hi, I'm Dave Ebbelaar
I've been working in AI for over a decade, with a BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence from VU Amsterdam. I started out as a solo freelancer and founded Datalumina in 2022, where my team and I have since delivered 50+ custom B2B AI solutions, including consulting work for teams like TimescaleDB, ClickUp, and n8n.
Along the way I noticed the same pattern across most companies: AI is on everyone's agenda, but very few developers have the skills to actually implement it in a way that drives results. That is the gap Datalumina Academy closes.
I teach developers and engineering teams the same workflows, codebases, and delivery patterns I use in client projects, so they can move from tutorials to systems that actually ship.
